Artist-in-Residence

2006 - Salome Kammer

"The vocal and dramatic skills of this woman are quite mesmerising."

Süddeutsche Zeitung

Salome Kammer studied cello from 1977 to 1984, receiving tuition from Maria Kliegel and Janos Starker in Essen, amongst others. In 1983 she was engaged as an actress by the Städtischen Bühnen Heidelberg where she remained for 5 years, playing numerous roles in plays, musicals, operettas and youth theatre. She moved to Munich in 1988 in order to begin shooting Edgar Reitz’s epic film “Die zweite Heimat”. The role of the cellist Clarissa was to occupy her for four years. During this time she also began to train as a singer and since 1990 can be heard as a concert soloist performing new vocal works. Many radio and CD productions document her career. Salome Kammer is a freelance performer and always finds new ways to bring her considerable musical and stage experience to enhance diverse projects. A sequel to the HEIMAT chronicle was recently broadcast on television, in which Salome Kammer once again played the role of Clarissa Lichtblau.
